Making Farm experience - From the cow to the meat
John is the farm-hunter and he killed the cow with his bow+arrow. It was time for the cow to get butchered and give us all new meat. Thank you!
After the cow lost a lot of blood through the nose and was struggling for about one minute, the arrow right through the heart ended it...
Then we needed to clean it up, because she was covered with mud.
After that you need to cut it open and take the stomach and all the other organs out (you can see stomach and guts, in the bowl is the kidney and the liver)
At last you cut the legs of, because there is no meat on them.
10 days after hanging in the cooler (to make it more tender), John and me cut it apart in all the meat we needed. Sometimes we needed to use the meat-saw to go through the thick bones.
Lots of beef, lots of work (it took us one saturday from 9 am to 5 pm)!
It was a good experience and interesting to learn!
And little Evin and me worked together, she had a lot of fun playing with the meat and we were a good team ;)
The last step was to ground all the beef we couldn't use for steaks or soup.
